COVID-19 Testing and Quarantine Information
We offer several COVID-19 testing options. Our in-house testing utilizes the IDNOW rapid PCR test. The IDNOW platform offers results in 15 minutes and is our first choice for testing. However, it is important to note that these tests are in limited supply at present. (Fact Sheet for ID NOW COVID-19 Testing)
When supplies are limited we strive to reserve these tests for those with active symptoms or critical infrastructure workers as defined by the CDC and U.S. Department of Homeland Security. We know that having results same day is very important to many people, so as supplies allow we use the rapid in-house testing whenever possible. When in-house testing is not possible we also have send out testing through Quest Diagnostics. These results are typically available in 48-72 hours, though at times of high demand the turn around can be longer.
If you are exposed to a positive COVID case you need to quarantine for 14 days. This is the safest option and virtually eliminates the risk of further spreading COVID to others. However, because of the hardship this causes, the CDC and ADH have determined shorter quarantine times are appropriate for many people. (CDC Quarantine Guidance)
Quest also offers a COVID antibody test. Antibody tests are only useful in certain circumstances. We would recommend you discuss with your provider if you desire an antibody test.
Certain workers classified as critical infrastructure workers by the Department of Homeland Security can return to work with a negative COVID swab and additional precautions. But they are still considered under quarantine for all other areas outside of work. (CDC Critical Infrastructure worker guidelines)
Persons with COVID-19 who have symptoms and were directed to care for themselves at home may discontinue isolation under the following conditions:
